Trey has officially graduated from commando crawling to crawling on all fours. We're so proud of him!
Now that Trey is REALLY crawling and trying to stand up all the time, I have to watch him like a hawk. T tried to catch Trey pulling up on our couch to a standing position on video last night. He did, along with a fall backwards and a big konk on the head. I started laughing (how horrible is that?!) and after a bit of whimpering, comforting, and peek-a-boo, Trey started laughing, too. Thank you, Lord, for creating kids to be so resilient.
Also, Trey's starting to learn the meaning of the word "no". When we say "no" in a strict tone, he cries -- the whole quivering of the lower lip cry! (Right now, I don't think it's actually the word "no", but the tone of voice that scares him). Ever since he started scooching, we knew the disciplining had to start. When a kid starts eating his shoes, grabbing the trash can near his changing table, playing with the vcr/dvd player, crawling into the entryway/kitchen area, etc., you know it's time to start putting your foot down. :) We love how much he likes to explore, but he needs boundaries! And since our apartment is really too small to create any more physical boundaries, we just have to teach him which things are off limits. With the trash can, Daddy, while saying no, started putting Trey in the pack and play immediately after he touched it -- and the other day, he went for it again, looked at Daddy, Daddy said no, and he pulled away and started lip quivering. :p Aw, our little boy is making progress! :)
